JJC Inc. has been named to the Qualified Remodeler Top 500 list fifteen times — a national recognition we’ve been honored to carry across decades on this stretch of the New Jersey Shore.
The Top 500 list is published annually by Qualified Remodeler magazine. Selection is based on a defined set of criteria: installed remodeling dollar volume, total years in business, industry association membership, industry certification, industry awards, and community service. The magazine receives over 50,000 applications from contractors across the country each year, and the editorial staff narrows the field to the 500 firms representing the strongest combination of those measures across all 50 states.
A brief history of the recognition
We were first named to the Top 500 in the late 1990s and have appeared on the list fifteen times since.
A few of the moments worth marking:
- 2013 — our 10th time on the list. The recognition came in the year following Hurricane Sandy, with our crews fully engaged in rebuilding and remodeling damaged homes up and down the shore. The selection that year felt particularly meaningful given the moment.
- 2014 — our 11th appearance, and our highest-ever placement on the list at #174. Qualified Remodeler’s analysis that year highlighted “excellent business acumen, a commitment to customer service, insightful sales techniques, and strong customer loyalty” as the common attributes of the top-ranked firms.
- 2018 — our 15th time on the list. A milestone we’re particularly grateful for.
What we share with the rest of the Top 500
The patterns Qualified Remodeler identifies among the Top 500 line up closely with how we think about the work. The typical Top 500 firm has been in business for roughly 25 years and operating from the same location for roughly 24 — these are stable, established companies that have weathered multiple economic cycles in the remodeling industry. We’ve now been operating from the Mantoloking office for decades, and from Normandy Beach before that, with the same family ownership from day one.
The thank-you that matters
What the awards represent is hard to put on a graphic. Every selection — every year — reflects the trust thousands of homeowners on the Jersey Shore have placed in our team across decades of custom waterfront work, post-storm rebuilds, additions, and whole-house remodels. We could not have earned the recognition without you.
